The Bennington Community Theatre is driven towards creating and implementing cultural and educational activities for the public benefit by providing theatrical arts opportunities for community participation.

Donna Dahlsten and Blake Thompson previously met when working at the Hastings (Nebraska) Community Theatre. When they happened to meet in Bennington while Donna was still working with the Hastings Community Theatre, they both expressed their desires to start a community theatre in Bennington, due to missing the production and performance of community theatre. After consideration of giving back to their small-town communities, Donna and Blake determined that Bennington was the perfect place. In June 2023, the Bennington Community Theatre was born.!
